CHRIST ALMIGHTY WHAT IS THAT WHITE SHIT. DEAR LORD GOD IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD. THE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US. HOW DO I DRIVE IN THIS. CANCEL EVERYTHING.
You know what is sad? Some of these ignorant and racist fools who say they are Native, might actually have Native American ancestry. Not all, but some. Who knows, maybe someone in their family was forcefully removed, relocated, or adopted out. It’s sad what they have become.
It’s sad, they’ve missed out - they didn’t get to grow up learning about the awesome and beautiful culture that their family comes from.
It’s sad, most of these people are so far removed from the culture that they wish they were actually a part of it. They grasp for whatever they think would bring them closer to it, without actually learning the truth, without actually trying to understand. They cling to stereotypical images of what they think it means to be Native: feathers, headdresses, dream catchers..
It’s sad, because they don’t know that by using these damaging and stereotypical images the way they do, they perpetuate the cycle of racism towards Native Americans. When faced with the truth, instead of realizing and accepting that they truly don’t understand, they lash out and use their mostly unknown heritage as a defense.
It’s sad, because now they become the random Native American friend that all the racists refer to when giving the argument, “I have a friend that’s Native American, and she thinks it’s okay.”
