my friend cinna is vlogging about her life, which currently is all about the northern cheyenne fort robinson spiritual outbreak. after being forced to relocate to oklahoma, the northern cheyenne, unable to live on the desolate reservation, made a break for their northern homeland. they were captured and led to fort robinson, nebraska. they refused to return to the south, so the army barricaded them in the fort and tried to starve them into submission. on january 9th, ie today, some of the cheyenne warriors fought their way out of the fort and left for home. the army tracked them down and slaughtered the escapees, killing 24 out of the 32.
later, the northern cheyenne were allowed to establish a reservation in montana. the descendants of those people, including my friend cinna, take their youth to fort robinson every year to run the paths their ancestors did, as a way of keeping the memory of their struggle alive. to remind their youth that they were born strong.
i love this video and i love what my friend cinna is doing and i love the northern cheyenne for doing this. may their run be blessed.
